Recent activity panel is gone from dashboard

The "Recent activity" panel (red rectangle) is no longer visible on the dashboard. Was it intentionally removed? It was really useful for quickly finding PRs/issues with new comments.

Yeah, it looks like GitHub changed the dashboard layout recently. The “Recent activity” section used to show up there, but it seems they either moved or removed it in this new update.

You can still check your activity from your profile → Overview page — it shows most of your recent actions there. Sometimes GitHub tests different layouts (A/B testing), so it might come back later or appear differently for some users.

If you really miss that panel, I’d suggest clicking the “Give feedback” button at the bottom of the dashboard and letting them know. They usually take note of user feedback for UI changes like this.

I don't see the “Give feedback” button on my dashboard. Do you see that button on your dashboard?

Totally fair—looks like that “Give feedback” button isn’t showing up for everyone. I don’t see it on my dashboard either right now. GitHub might’ve removed it or is testing different layouts. You can still share feedback by posting in the GitHub Community Discussions—they do check that space for UI suggestions.

Sadly, this is not even close to the functionality that was in the sidebar. If someone comments on an issue or PR you created, this now goes totally unnoticed for me (unless I check the email notifications).

Trying to give feedback to Github in this way is the equivalent of trying to have a conversation with a brick wall.

This is really bad for people who often need to collaborate on open-source projects, I hope it can adjust back to the original panel and restore the Recent Activity section.

I've just realized my recent activities got moved to a subfeed for my activity related to the organization I'm a member of. At least, now I know where it's gone, but I GENUINELY HATE it. It was a really bad idea.

It's possible, but it's too troublesome. Besides, you have to remember these grammars or save the relevant links. Compared with the previous clear and straightforward approach, this method seems too cumbersome.
