Today, we’re sharing some official GitHub learning resources to help you keep the momentum going, whether you want to build projects, earn a certification, or go deeper with Git.

But early on, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by choices. This roadmap is designed to give you direction without pressure, with options you can explore at your own pace.

🛤️ Choose Your Next Track

If you loved writing your README and opening Issues:
→ Learn more about technical writing or project management with GitHub Projects

If you loved making your first commit:
→ Explore Git fundamentals and GitHub’s CLI

If you loved discovering open source projects:
→ Check out the First Contributions project and the #good-first-issue topic on GitHub to contribute to real projects

If you're still figuring it out:
→ Try Lady Kerr's Let's learn git and GitHub together! video series or the Skills modules for guided, hands-on practice

If you want to learn GitHub + AI?
→ If you're curious about AI-assisted development, GitHub Copilot might be your next stop. It’s a coding assistant that helps you write code and understanding how to use it responsibly is a skill worth having.

1. Explore GitHub Skills

GitHub Skills are free, self-paced mini courses built right into GitHub. Each one is:

• Hands-on (you’ll use actual GitHub workflows!)
• Short and beginner-friendly
• Built around a real repo — so you learn by doing

• Introduction to GitHub
• Communicate using Markdown
• GitHub Pages

They’re a great next step if you liked the structure of this campaign.

2. Prepare for the GitHub Foundations Certification

Want to show what you’ve learned and earn a credential? GitHub’s Foundations Certification helps you validate your understanding of:

• GitHub basics
• Repos, commits, issues, pull requests
• Collaboration workflows
• Community and open source best practices

3. Keep learning, building, and contributing!
