Github Foundations exam is not free?

Hi everyone,

I wanted to schedule for the GitHub foundations exam, but it seems that it's not free. It is my first time I want to take the exam, so I thought I would have a voucher or something.

It is free... Just a little buggy

What worked for me was:

1. Log out of GitHub
2. Open InCognito, InPrivate or whatever it's called on your browser
3. Login into GitHub Education
4. Find the certification
5. Click on Book your exam
6. Login with GitHub account

Also, April 30th, 2025, I got an email from GitHub that included this:

So, there's a possibility that they simply stopped giving them out...

Student vouchers for GitHub Foundation Certification are on hold until this fall, this is due to the platform change from PSI to Pearson VUE.

Heads-up, Developer Pack members! The current batch of free GitHub Foundations exam vouchers disappears on June 30 2025. Redeem yours now and schedule the test at your convenience.
