You can configure Copilot coding agent for other users with access to this repository, but you won't be able to assign tasks to Copilot because the Copilot coding agent policy has been disabled by an administrator.

In my personal repositories, this message is appearing in the Copilot agent

Same as you. I have checked on https://github.com/features/copilot/plans?cft=copilot_li.features_copilot and it show Copilot Coding Agent as available for user with Github Pro plans (not from Pro+). I don't know why, i see it but i can't enable it.

I had this issue when I was in the Trial version of the Pro license. I was able to enable the coding agent by choosing to pay for the Pro license before my trial expired.

I also have GitHub Education. Maybe they’ve restricted this feature to (actual) paying Pro users. That would be quite disappointing, though.

Copilot Pro users can now delegate tasks to Copilot to work on in the background with GitHub Copilot coding agent, available today in public preview.

All Copilot Pro users should be able to assign issues to Copilot.

I created another account outside my current organization/enterprise and enrolled it into the Copilot Pro Plan to try this out, but the Coding Agent feature is disabled on this page https://github.com/settings/copilot/features

Is this expected? 🤔

I have hit this issue as well; Nothing I do seems to make it turn on, and there isn't the option to fix it.

I am the admin, and this UI is terrible from an accessibility perspective, please just give me a direct link to the setting I need to fiddle with, this is insane.

I don't think it's a good interface design because I'm the administrator of my account, and if it's not available for the current plan or account, it should be displayed as it is, not "disabled by the administrator"

For me it says that its enabled when I the features setting on my account, but I still cant assign copilot and I see the yellow screen when I check the coding agent settings:

I have done that and they say its enabled. The first image is actually from the admin organization view.

Actually, after I registered Copilot Pro, the disabled prompt disappeared. So it's actually just a prompt indicating availability, not "disabled by administrator"?

I understand not letting you use it with a free account, but change the wording. "by administrator" makes me think my account got taken over by some company or something
