Would this change the command to run the site to something like bundle exec jekyll serve --watch --baseurl '' ?

If so, do you mind adding that to the instructions as well?

I was still able to run jekyll serve --baseurl '', all the Gemfile did was install the dependencies for me. The command you suggested ran as well, though there was no apparent benefit. Also, as of Jekyll 2.4 jekyll serve watches by default (though I haven't seen it work yet).
