ESP32-C6 devkit offers Installer for Bin Only + Update Wifi (but asks for CPY drive)

The installer should offer the wifi credential setting relying soley on the serial port connection and not asking for the circuitpython drive location as is the norm for devices without true USB support.

Great idea! I think for the Code Editor, relying only on serial for editing files would be a good idea as well. I'll create an issue there as well.

Thinking further on this, I think there may be an issue where the File System isn't writeable if there is a CIRCUITPY drive available. That being said, I think there may be a way to close it programatically.

CX (including C6) doesn't have native USB so it won't show as a CIRCUITPY drive.

Right, but I think he's suggesting using the serial method we use for boards without native USB even on boards with native USB.

Yeah that's the one.
I thought I vaguely remembered being able to do it in the past (but must have been native devices as you say Scott), and merged that with wanting to do it for some of the usb-serial boards I was using (to make it easier to test the wifi workflow).
That combined with seeing the link on the C6 installer dialog.
Did the downloads page always offer Update Wifi Credentials for non-native-usb boards?

Long story short, it would be wonderful if the installer could allow setting / updating wifi for non-native-usb boards, along with ideally waiting for them to come online and reporting the IP address received by the device (as a clickable link if api pass set).
