File context embedded in prompt

I want to attach files as context in the GHCP chat but doing that by copy-paste pre defined text I have, without clicking on any button.
For example, I tried to paste:
What is X Y Z?
#file:a.c #file:b.c

It doesn't look the same like when I type #file: and then click on the #file: command so I'm not sure if by copy-paste I'm attaching the files or not.
