Bug Description:
When using the Copilot chat input textbox in a new project without a chat history, pressing the up arrow key to move the cursor to the beginning of the textbox causes the entire prompt to disappear and not possible to retrieve.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Open VSCode in a clean directory.
2. Open the Copilot chat input textbox.
3. Type a prompt.
4. Press the up arrow key to move the cursor to the beginning of the text.

Expected Behavior:
The cursor should move to the beginning of the textbox without clearing the prompt.

Actual Behavior:
The entire prompt disappears.

Environment:

• OS: Linux
• Editor: Visual Studio Code
• Date: November 5, 2025

Additional Notes:
This issue disrupts the workflow, as the prompt has to be retyped after it disappears.

I don't know what new patches they made, seems disappointing. It checks the history. You can go to first by shift+home.
