4 Simple Things That Make Maintainers Happy (Not Haunted!)

1. Write Clear Commit Messages

❌ git commit -m "fix" ← This is scarier than any horror movie!
✅ git commit -m "Fix login button alignment on mobile devices"

2. Reference the Issue

Always link your PR to the issue it solves:

Fixes #123

This PR adds error handling to the user registration form as requested in the issue.

3. Be Transparent About Your AI Familiar 🤖

Using AI tools? That's totally fine! Just be honest about your digital sidekick:

✅ Do:

• Mention if you used AI assistance in your PR description
• Review and understand all AI-generated code before submitting
• Test thoroughly - AI can conjure subtle bugs

❌ Don't:

• Submit AI code without understanding what it does
• Copy-paste AI suggestions without testing
• Hide that you used AI tools (no invisibility cloaks!)

4. Test Before You Submit

• Does your code still run?
• Did you break anything else?
• Does it actually solve the problem?

A 2-minute test can save hours of back-and-forth! No one wants a haunted codebase! 👻

💡 Remember: Maintainers appreciate honesty and thoroughness. AI tools are great familiars, but you're still the wizard responsible for the magic!
