Cannot quickly open Copilot using Ctrl + Shift + C

Likely reason: Ctrl+Shift+C is already used by something else in the IDE or your OS, so Copilot doesn’t pop up.

How I fix it in JetBrains (IntelliJ/PyCharm/WebStorm etc):

1. Open Settings (Ctrl+Alt+S)

2. Keymap

3. Search “Copilot”

4. Set shortcuts for:

   • “GitHub Copilot Chat: Open Chat”
   • “GitHub Copilot: Inline Chat”

5. If I really want Ctrl+Shift+C, I search for that combo in Keymap and remove whatever is using it

6. Apply/OK, and restart the IDE if needed

7. Quick fallback: press Ctrl+Shift+A, type “Copilot Chat”, hit Enter

Extra checks:

• Make sure “GitHub Copilot” and “GitHub Copilot Chat” plugins are installed and enabled
• I’m logged into GitHub in the IDE (File > Settings > GitHub)
• My OS or window manager isn’t grabbing Ctrl+Shift+C globally
• IDE and plugins are updated
