What is GitHub Universe? 👀

• GitHub Universe is our annual global developer event designed to bring together the world’s developers, enterprise leaders, and security professionals for two days of networking, connecting with peers and the team at GitHub, and seeing the latest innovations.
• If you haven’t registered yet, here’s what you need to know. This two-day event hosts some of the greatest minds in tech. We have experts from companies like Red Hat, HubSpot, CVS, General Motors, and more leading our sessions—covering everything from vibe coding and automation at scale to AI-driven security. You’ll also have the opportunity to chat with the GitHub team 1:1, get your questions answered, and even get career advice. Did we mention there are two demo stages this year? One with donuts and one with a silent disco.
• You can join us in-person at Fort Mason in San Francisco, or virtually from anywhere on October 28-29.

Why should I attend? 🤗

• Be with your community. Connect with like-minded developers, network with your open source heroes, and meet tech leaders you can stay in touch with long after the event is over.
• Hear the latest. There’s something a little magical about discovering new products and features the moment they’re released—and that’s what you’ll get at GitHub Universe.
• Learn and build. It’s not just about sessions: We also have GitHub Central that features live product demos, and the GitHub Expert Center where our specialized experts in AI, Actions, security, and scaled adoption will be here to help you one step at a time.
• Connect and grow. In the Career Corner, you can get 1:1 advice tailored to your next career move. In the Open Source Zone, you can connect with contributors and maintainers. GitHub Learn will also be here with tutorials and certifications. Every pass comes with the ability to take a GitHub Certification exam, online or in-person at GitHub HQ on October 30. (Registration for on-site testing is required.)
• Experiment and play. Hack your badge, create interactive projects in the Makerspace, and take a piece of GitHub home with you from The Shop. Whether you’re swapping stories or making puzzles, the community spaces at Universe make connecting with your peers easy and fun.

I've been looking forward to attending online again this year. I have received the email prompting me to sign into the portal. However upon trying to sign in, it keeps trying to get me purchase IRL tickets to proceed.

Is attending online no longer an option to actively participate in the conference?
