I'm trying to revert a Pull Request and getting this error "Sorry, this pull request couldn’t be reverted automatically. It may have already been reverted, or the content may have changed since it was merged."

🛠️ Manual Revert Steps

• Identify the commit to revert
  Find the merge commit for the pull request:
  git log --merges
• Look for a commit message like Merge pull request #123 from branch-name.
• Create a new branch from main (or the base branch)
  git checkout main
  git pull
  git checkout -b revert-pr-123
• Revert the merge commit manually
  Use the -m flag to indicate the parent (usually 1 if main is the base):
  git revert -m 1
• ⚠️ If this throws conflicts, Git will pause the revert. You’ll need to fix them manually before proceeding.
• Commit and push
  git commit -m "Manually reverted PR #123"
  git push origin revert-pr-123
• Open a new pull request with the revert
  Just like any feature branch, you can now open a PR to apply the revert.
  If the PR was already reverted earlier, you might also want to confirm that by running:git log --grep="Revert.*PR #123"

You might have pushed more commits to the branch after that PR, or even force-pushed something to that branch.
To manually revert it you should look at the git log and identify which commits need to be reverted.

You can use git log --all --graph --decorate --pretty=oneline --abbrev-commit for that.

 | * 654321a some change you want to revert
 |/
 *   f1234ab Some commit

In this case, you want to go back to "Some commit". Just create another branch pointing to that commit and then open a PR. First go to that commit with git checkout f1234ab. Then create a branch pointing to that commit. git switch -c revert-pr-123.

And finally proceed to push that branch and open a PR like you're used to.
But always check to see if there were other PRs or other changes during that period, and check the diffs thoroughly.

Clone the repo and checkout the branch

git clone <repo-url>
cd <repo>
git checkout main
git pull origin main

Revert the commit:
--If it was a merge commit:
git revert -m 1 <commit-hash>

--If multiple commits:
git revert <hash1> <hash2> ...

Push the changes or open a new PR
git push origin main

this will definitely as I also ended up like this sometime if this help pls mark this answer
