Hi,

I just linked my Namecheap domain to Github Pages, and so far it works, but the connection is not secure,e and I'm also facing a few errors that show up on the Github page. There I see " DNS check unsuccessful"

It sounds like your custom domain is partially set up but still missing a few DNS or HTTPS configuration steps.

A few things to check:

1. DNS Configuration
   Make sure your domain’s DNS settings at Namecheap include the correct records:

   • For an apex domain (e.g., example.com), use A records pointing to GitHub’s IPs:

     185.199.108.153  
     185.199.109.153  
     185.199.110.153  
     185.199.111.153  
     

   • For subdomains (e.g., www.example.com), use a CNAME record pointing to your GitHub Pages URL (e.g., yourusername.github.io).

2. Enforce HTTPS
   In your repository settings (under GitHub Pages), make sure "Enforce HTTPS" is checked. If it's disabled or greyed out, it may take some time after DNS is correctly configured for HTTPS to be issued.

3. Propagation Time
   DNS changes can take a few minutes to several hours to fully propagate, so if you've just updated them, try waiting a bit and then re-checking.

If the GitHub Pages UI still shows "DNS check unsuccessful" after confirming the correct setup and waiting for propagation, you may want to use https://dnschecker.org to verify your DNS records globally or reach out to GitHub Support if it persists.
